General Dentistry Perth
Here are some of the services we offer to help stop dental problems in their tracks.
Timely visits to the dentist can work wonders for your oral health.
Good oral health that results from preventative dentistry measures will help you avoid unnecessary dental treatments and save you money. Here is how we can help you and your family:
Scale and Clean (Caring for your gums)
Tartar (or calculus) accumulates over time and cannot be removed with everyday brushing and flossing. A scale and clean is carried out at your six-monthly check-up to remove the build-up of calculus. This routine procedure takes approximately 40 minutes and helps you and your family to avoid permanent gum disease. A scale and clean is a proactive measure that is part of our preventative dentistry services.
Fillings
Whether it’s from a dental cavity, or from cracked or worn-down teeth from tooth grinding or nail biting, dental fillings are used to restore teeth back to health. If teeth are not treated in a timely manner, bacteria can travel to the nerve of the tooth causing pain and infection resulting in the potential loss of the tooth. We have several options when it comes to dental fillings including: composite resin-tooth coloured filling; glass ionomer cement; porcelain (ceramics); amalgam and gold. We will help assist you on the merits of each option, discuss the cost and procedures involved and allow you to decide what is best for you.
Extraction
In the unfortunate situation that you need to have a tooth pulled-out (extracted), HBA dental can assist. Our dentists are experienced in extracting teeth whether it is simple or surgical in nature. We can understand that people may be a little apprehensive to have an extraction, however at HBA dental we have Nitrous Oxide (laughing gas) on hand or we can organise Intravenous sedation (where an anaesthetist can help put you to sleep in the chair during the procedure) or General Anaesthesia (in a hospital setting). There may be certain situations where we are unable to perform the extraction, in which case we can refer you to an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon to carry out the procedure.
There are numerous options for replacing a tooth after an extraction and we are happy to discuss these options with you.
Replacing a tooth and Dental Implants
We offer a range of alternative tooth solutions including removable dentures with acrylic or alloy frameworks; traditional or Maryland bridges; and permanent tooth implants - you have complete flexibility to choose what you prefer in terms of usability and cost. Helping you identify the best option is our goal, recommending unnecessary treatments is not.
We truly appreciate our patients being fully involved in the choice of material used for tooth restoration and replacement, and we are happy to discuss the relative merits of each option available.
